Souq Al Jubail (SQAJ) welcomed approximately 5,000 visitors in the first nine months of the year. The visits were organised in cooperation with the Sharjah Tourism and Commercial Development Authority, which considers SQAJ as an attractive tourist destination for visitors from inside and outside the country.
SQAJ has succeeded in attracting tourists and visitors from around the world and is known for its design inspired by the architectural heritage of the Emirate of Sharjah. It has formed a homogeneous panoramic picture blending with the emirate’s Arab and Islamic traditions and identity.
Souq Al Jubail recently received a media delegation from the Eastern Europe and Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania). Prior to that, SQAJ also received a group from “Sharjah Children’s Centers,” and “Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah,” under the umbrella of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for creating leaders and innovators. The tourist tour was organized by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority on the occasion of World Tourism Day.
Over the past nine months, SQAJ, being a distinguished architectural icon and a popular shopping destination in the Emirate of Sharjah, has attracted tourist groups from various parts of the world, including the United States, Northern and Central Europe, East Asia, and many other regions.
Souq Al Jubail’s strategic location, stunning sea view, utilities and facilities provide a spacious and comfortable environment and has been a magnet for tourists and visitors in the emirate and across the region. They have been witness to the fish auctions organized in the market daily, and discovered the pleasure of shopping and buying fresh local and imported products from many countries, in a clean, well-organized and healthy atmosphere.
Opened in December 2015, Souq Al Jubail is also a family entertainment destination, catering to the needs of nationals and residents. The market has a section for selling meat and poultry, another one for vegetables and fruits, and one of the largest fresh fish section in Sharjah with a dedicated area for cleaning and grilling the fish.
